Bank of Kigali CFO Anita Umuhire has been nominated for the 2025 CFO Awards

Bank of Kigali CFO Anita Umuhire is the latest addition to the list of nominees for the 2025 CFO Awards for East Africa. The awards, which will take place on 27 November, recognise finance executives who exemplify impactful and exceptional leadership.

Anita was appointed as the CFO of Bank of Kigali in February 2023.

She began her career in March 2007 as an audit supervisor at EY South Africa, where she spent three years before transitioning to the banking sector. In March 2010, she joined Fina Bank as a financial planning manager and was promoted in January 2011 to head of finance and administration, a role she held until December 2013.

In January 2014, Anita became the group CFO at Guaranty Trust Bank Limited. Later, in April 2015, she joined the development sector as a financial management expert at The Regional Centre on Small Arms, where she served until January 2017.

Anita was appointed as the finance director at Inyange Industries in January 2018. After nearly three years, she was appointed as the deputy managing director in December 2020. She held this role until February 2023, when she assumed her current position as CFO at Bank of Kigali.

Anita holds an MBA in leadership and sustainability in business from the University of Cumbria, a higher diploma in accountancy from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Bachelor's degree in business and commerce from the same university.
