Alkarim has been nominated for the 2026 CFO East Africa Awards, recognising over two decades of financial leadership and corporate strategy experience in the banking sector.
Diamond Trust Bank finance and strategy director Alkarim Jiwa has been nominated for the 2026 CFO Awards, joining a distinguished group of finance leaders competing for the region's most coveted recognition in finance leadership.
Alkarim has been with Diamond Trust Bank for over 28 years, having joined in February 1998 and risen through the ranks to his current role as finance and strategy director, a position he has held since September 2018.
He also serves as a non-executive director at Serena Hotels, a role he has held since January 2022. Earlier in his career, he spent nine years as audit manager at PKF Kenya.
A fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Alkarim completed his accountancy training at Strathmore College School of Accountancy.
Dubbed the "Oscars of Finance" in the region, the CFO East Africa Awards continues to celebrate leaders who raise the bar for financial leadership across East Africa.
The 2026 nominees will be celebrated at a gala event on 26 November, where winners will be announced.
