Jaco Maritz has been appointed CFO of Trinity Metals, the Rwanda-based tin, tungsten and tantalum miner, with effect from 1 September 2026.

He joins from Khoemacau Copper Mining, owned by MMG, where he was serving as senior financial adviser.

Jaco had previously spent over five years at Khoemacau as group CFO, leading the finance function through the construction of the Khoemacau copper mine in Botswana and the company's subsequent sale to MMG for approximately $1.9-billion in 2024.

Before that, between 2018 and 2019, he served as CFO of London-listed Acacia Mining, where he was involved in Barrick Mining Corp's $1.2-billion takeover of the company. Earlier in his career he held various senior finance roles at Barrick Gold Corporation in Toronto and Johannesburg.

"On behalf of the board, I am delighted to welcome Jaco to Trinity Metals and to be working alongside him again. Jaco's many years of international mining finance experience, including both public and private CFO roles at Acacia Mining and Khoemacau, will add tremendous value to Trinity's next phase of development. This is an important time for the company as we execute our strategic growth plans, which will further establish and enhance our role as a key supplier of critical minerals to international markets," said Trinity Metals CEO Peter Galeta.

Jaco has over 25 years of international experience in mining finance, spanning project development, operations and corporate finance.
