John Githiomi nominated for 2025 CFO Awards

John Githiomi, group CFO of Rubis Energy Kenya, also serves as a board director.

Rubis Energy Kenya group CFO John Githiomi is the 29th finance executive to join the list of nominees vying for the 2025 CFO Awards for East Africa.

The awards shine a spotlight on finance leaders who demonstrate outstanding performance and leadership. The awards ceremony, slated for 27 November in Nairobi, will host CFOs, partners, and VIPs for an exquisite evening of networking, entertainment and fine cuisine.

John took on his current role in 2019. He began his career in finance as a tax consultant and auditor at professional services firm Ernst & Young (EY) and later joined KenolKobil as a senior internal auditor. 

During his 14-year tenure at the company, he held various roles, among them group internal audit manager, finance manager and head of finance. Rubis acquired the assets owned and operated by KenolKobil in 2019, rebranding to Rubis Energy Kenya. 

John holds a BCom and an MBA in finance from the University of Nairobi.
