Shime Baligira has joined the list of finance leaders who will be competing in the 2025 ‘Oscars of Finance’.
Liquid Intelligent Technologies CFO Shime Baligira has been nominated for the 2025 CFO Awards for East Africa. Shime was appointed as the CFO of Liquid Intelligent Technologies in January 2022.
She has over a decade of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, risk management, taxation, auditing and finance transformation, having worked across the telecommunication, fintech and banking industries.
She began her career as a senior accounts manager at Compliant Accountancy and Tax, thereafter joining RSwitch as finance manager in October 2012. In January 2015, she was appointed as treasury manager at Millicom (Tigo), rising through the ranks to financial controller in March 2016 and financial reporting head in January 2018. Her three-year stint at the telco ended in December 2018, when she joined Kountable, assuming the role of regional finance director. Shime transitioned to the International Gorilla Conservation Programme in October 2020, serving as head of finance and administration until January 2022.
She holds a bachelor of science in applied accounting from Oxford Brookes University and an MBA in international business from Anglia Ruskin University. She is also a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
