He joins the running for the inaugural ‘Oscars of Finance, which recognise finance executives who have shown exemplary skills, vision and results across various sectors.
Rahul has more than 15 years of experience in operational and corporate finance, having led companies in the telecommunications and fintech sectors.
He started his career as an analyst at professional services firm Deloitte in March 2005. He then joined EY as an assistant manager in February 2006, serving in the position for nearly one year.
In January 2009, Rahul took on a role in financial reporting at Airtel and was later appointed as financial reporting head at parent company Bharti Airtel International in August 2010. He transitioned to Airtel Tanzania in September 2013, when he was appointed as financial controller. Between July 2016 and January 2023, Rhul served as finance director at Airtel Rwanda, a role he held until his appointment as CFO of Silverback Tea Company.
Rahul holds a BCom from Christ Church College, Kanpur, and an MBA from Nottingham University Business School. He is also a chartered accountant (ACA).
