Zipporah Chege nominated for 2025 CFO Awards

The seasoned finance professional joins the first cohort of nominees in the running for the first-ever ‘Oscars of Finance’.

ICEA Lion General Insurance CFO Zipporah Chege has been nominated for the inaugural CFO Awards for East Africa.

The awards highlight outstanding financial leadership, innovation and strategic management, honouring those who have made significant contributions to their organisations and the broader business community.

Winners will be celebrated at a glamorous gala dinner in Nairobi on 27 November 2025 that will bring together top CFOs, VIPs and business partners for an exquisite evening of networking, entertainment and fine cuisine.

Zipporah was appointed as the CFO of ICEA Lion General Insurance in 2017.

She began her career at Deloitte in 2001, where she rose from audit associate to senior audit manager over 12 years. Her first seven years were spent in the Mombasa office, gaining experience across audit, tax and consulting. In 2010, she transitioned to the Nairobi office, where she specialised in financial services, leading audits for firms such as Africa Reinsurance Corporation, Britam, and ICEA Lion.

She holds a MBA in strategic management and a BCom in accounting from the University of Nairobi. She is also a certified public accountant (CPA-K) and has completed executive training at Cass Business School and CDI Africa.
