He then spent five years as head of finance and accounts at the Tanzanian contracting company D B Shapriya & Co, managing the finances of a group with a turnover of USD 15 million.
Balaji began his career in audit in Mumbai before joining Mahrouki in Oman as group financial controller in April 1997. He qualified as a chartered accountant through C C Chokshi & Co and holds a BCom degree from Mumbai University.
