Dr Michael Lugemwa is the director of finance at Deposit Protection Fund (DPF) Uganda.

He started out as a credit accounts management officer at Stanbic Bank Uganda in 2008, taking on the role or financial accounting officer at the same company a year later. In 2011, he transitioned to the Office of the Auditor General, where he worked as an auditor for five years. He first assumed his current position at DPF Uganda in 2021, serving for a year before becoming the director of internal audit. In 2024, he resumed his role as director of finance and operations.

Deposit Protection Fund (DPF) Uganda
DPF Uganda is a government agency mandated to provide deposit insurance to customers of deposit-taking institutions licensed by the Bank of Uganda. It ensures depositors are compensated up to a specified limit in the event that a financial institution fails, with the aim of enhancing public confidence in the financial sector.
