Mwirigi Kiula is the deputy vice chancellor of finance and administration at St. Paul's University.
He began his career in technology at Octagon Data Systems, where he worked as a systems analyst, before joining Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) as a systems administrator.
In 2020, Mwirigi joined Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) as chief information officer and was later appointed deputy director of ICT and innovations, a role he held for over three years. He was subsequently promoted to director of ICT and innovation, leading the institution's digital transformation agenda until 2025, when he took up his current role at St. Paul's University. He was recognised as CTO of the Year in 2025.
In addition to his executive roles, Mwirigi serves as a council member at KCA University and as a trustee of the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme. He previously served on the management board of the Kenya Education Network.
Mwirigi holds a Doctor of Philosophy in the role of leadership and governance in digital transformation, an MSc in ICT policy and regulation, and a BSc in computer science, all from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
