George Binde is the CFO and executive director of Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania, a role he assumed in January 2025.

Prior to joining Standard Chartered, George spent over six years as chief internal auditor at Barclays Bank Tanzania, having previously served in the same role at Exim Bank Tanzania from 2014 to 2018. Earlier in his banking career, he was a manager of internal audit at Barclays Bank Tanzania and a reconciliation manager at NMB Bank.

George began his career as an audit senior at Deloitte, where he worked from 2005 to 2009.

He holds a Bachelor of Corporate Finance (Hons) from the University of Dar es Salaam and an MSc in Finance from the University of Strathclyde. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) and a certified internal auditor.
