Irene Maberi

Irene Maberi is the interim CEO of ASA Microfinance Uganda.

Before joining ASA Microfinance, Irene served as head of finance at Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda from July 2022 to March 2025. Before that, she spent five years at Vivo Energy Uganda, progressing from financial controller to finance manager.

Earlier in her career, Irene held finance manager roles at Smart Uganda and MTN Shared Services, and spent close to 11 years at MTN Uganda across a range of accounting and reporting roles. She became the CFO of ASA Microfinance Uganda in March 2025.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Makerere University, a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, and an MBA from the East and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI). She is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).
