Joseph Mrawa is the chief financial officer of Tanzania Mortgage Refinance Company (TMRC).
He began his career in 2010 as a senior associate auditor at PwC Tanzania, where he worked on statutory and internal audits in sectors including mining, manufacturing, hospitality, and donor-funded projects, with additional assignments in Sierra Leone.
In 2013, he joined Exim Bank Tanzania as a senior finance manager for reporting and business analysis. He briefly served as lead for fund management at TSL Investment Management in 2017 before returning to Exim Bank as senior finance manager, a role he held until 2020.
In December 2020, Joseph moved to Absa Bank Tanzania as head of business performance and analytics, where he was responsible for strategy, planning, and performance reporting. He took on the role of chief financial officer at FINCA Impact Finance in September 2023, leading financial management across the Tanzanian operations. He was appointed chief financial officer of Tanzania Mortgage Refinance Company in November 2024.
Joseph holds an MSc in finance and investment from the University of Edinburgh and a BCom in accounting from the University of Dar es Salaam. He is also a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and an associate certified public accountant (ACPA).
