Purity Mumbe Sammy joined East Africa Re (EARe) as its chief finance officer in April 2020.

She is an experienced finance, strategy, and risk management professional, who has held leadership positions in a number of countries.

Prior to joining EARe, she was a senior manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Kenya. She has spent almost a decade at PwC, starting as an associate for the Kenyan offices, before taking on manager roles in the UK and US, which gave her extensive experience and knowledge of the sector.

Purity holds an MBA from the Warwick Business School as well as a B.Com (Finance) from the University of Nairobi. She is a certified public accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.

East Africa Reinsurance
East Africa Reinsurance company was incorporated in 1993 and commenced operations in 1995. The company was formed through a joint initiative of local insurance companies in Kenya and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank. The main objective for establishing the company was to serve the reinsurance needs of the local insurance market; and grow to regional and international markets.
