The former G4S Kenya and KPMG executive takes charge of finance on an interim basis as Sanjeev Panwar prepares to exit after 18 years with the group.

Alexander Muasya takes over WPP Scangroup’s finance and accounting leadership as acting group finance director from 1 October 2026, with CFO Sanjeev Panwar set to leave the company at the end of the year.

Alexander, who joined the company as financial controller in November 2024, brings 15 years’ experience across financial services and consultancy. He will hold the role while the board searches for a substantive group finance director to lead the finance function.

“The board is confident that the company will benefit from Muasya’s skills, knowledge and industry experience and wishes him all the best in his new role in the company,” the company said in a statament.

Before joining WPP Scangroup, he spent three years as group financial controller at G4S Kenya. He previously worked at KPMG East Africa, where he rose from audit associate to audit manager, and completed an 18-month posting as audit senior at KPMG’s Boston office in the US.

Alexander is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He holds an MBA in finance and a BE in mathematics and business studies, both from the University of Nairobi.

An 18-year story

Sanjeev, who was appointed CFO on 1 January 2025, leaves after 18 years with the company. He will remain in post until the end of the year to ensure continuity and a smooth handover.

“On behalf of the company, the board extends its sincere appreciation to Sanjeev for his commitment and significant contributions over the past 18 years. He has been a valued partner and dedicated leader, offering valuable insights and expertise as the company navigated various complex and dynamic operating seasons over the years,” the company's statement read.

Sanjeev joined in June 2008 and led the implementation of the group’s enterprise finance systems in his early years there. He later served as group finance controller and deputy CFO before becoming group finance director in July 2022.

Prior to moving to Nairobi, he was senior finance manager at Indian restaurant chain Yo!China and had earlier held finance roles within Publicis Groupe, including at ZenithOptimedia.

Sanjeev holds a BCom from the University of Delhi. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a certified management accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India.
