Bilaal Ramjaun nominated for 2025 CFO Awards

AzamPesa CFO Bilaal Ramjaun has been nominated for the first-ever CFO Awards for East Africa. He joins a list of 31 nominees who will compete in the inaugural “Oscars of Finance”.

The awards ceremony, which is scheduled for 27 November in Nairobi, will see top CFOs, VIPs and business leaders come together for an evening of fine dining, networking and entertainment.

Bilaal was appointed as the CFO of Azam TV in May 2017 and soon after joined AzamPesa and AzamPay as group CFO and board member. At AzamPesa, he also serves on the board regulatory compliance committee and leads financial strategy, partnerships, and compliance initiatives across East Africa. From 2015 to 2017, Bilaal was head of finance and compliance at Medscheme in Mauritius and served on the board of the Mauritius Employers Federation Provident Association.

Earlier, he held senior finance roles at Econet Wireless, Huawei Technologies, and Deloitte, gaining experience across different markets in Africa, the Middle East and the US.

He holds a BSc in applied accounting from Oxford Brookes University, an ACCA certification, and a CPMS in project management. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in business administration at Exeed College.
