I&M Bank Rwanda CFO Dederi Wimana nominated for 2026 CFO Awards

Dederi Wimana, CFO at I&M Bank Rwanda, is among the second cohort of nominees for the 2026 CFO East Africa Awards, with over two decades of banking and finance experience in Rwanda.

I&M Bank Rwanda CFO Dederi Wimana has been nominated for the 2026 CFO East Africa Awards.

Since August 2021, she has served as CFO at I&M Bank Rwanda, having previously served as chief internal auditor at the same institution from August 2019 to July 2021. Before that, she spent six years as deputy chief internal auditor at I&M Bank Rwanda.

Prior to joining I&M Bank, she spent eight years at Banque Commerciale du Rwanda, serving as management accountant from 2005 to 2010 before being appointed deputy CFO, a role she held until June 2013. She began her career at Bank of Kigali, where she worked from 1998 to 2005 in roles spanning management trainee and financial accountant.

Dederi holds a Bachelor of Economic Sciences with a finance specialisation from Université Catholique de Graben and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Dubbed the "Oscars of Finance", the CFO Awards celebrate leaders who raise the bar for financial leadership across East Africa.

The 2026 nominees will be celebrated at a gala event on 26 November, where winners will be announced.
