Isaac Lupokela promoted to Country Manager at Nyanzaga Gold Project

He steps into the role after two and a half years as CFO, bringing over 15 years of experience across tax, telecommunications, manufacturing, and mining.

Isaac Lupokela is the new country manager at Sotta Mining Corporation's Nyanzaga Gold Project. He takes the helm of Tanzania's largest gold mine development in over 18 years.

His career spans over 15 years of progressive leadership in finance and strategy. He began as a tax consultant at PwC Tanzania, where he worked across banking, telecommunications, energy, mining, and consumer products sectors from August 2010 to August 2013.

He then moved into corporate finance roles, serving as assistant tax manager at Airtel Tanzania and later as tax, treasury & accounts payable manager at Zanzibar Telecommunication Network. His expertise deepened at Kilombero Sugar Co, where he served as senior manager for tax, compliance & financial reporting from January 2015 to November 2016.

Isaac spent six and a half years at Tanga Cement, rising from financial controller in December 2016 to head of finance in March 2020. He joined Sotta Mining Corporation's Nyanzaga Gold Project as CFO in June 2023.

Isaac is a certified accountant and member of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors Tanzania (NBAA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He is also a certified director by the Institute of Directors Tanzania (IoDT) and has completed executive programs at GIBS Business School and Harvard Business School.
