David Abwoga, group director of finance at NCBA Group, has been appointed chairperson of the board of Cannon Life Assurance.

David has served as group director of finance at NCBA Group since October 2019, overseeing the financial function of one of East Africa's largest banking groups.

Before that, he spent over four years at NIC Group as director of finance and strategy, a period that spanned the lead-up to the merger between NIC Group and Commercial Bank of Africa that formed NCBA in 2019.

The appointment is one of three board changes announced by Cannon Group, which also named Titus Naikuni as chairman of Cannon General Insurance and Judy Kamau as non-executive director on the boards of Cannon General Insurance and Cannon Asset Managers.

He holds a Master's degree in business administration from the University of Nairobi.
