EABL Group CFO Risper Genga Ohaga has been nominated for the inaugural CFO Awards for East Africa.
Risper, a seasoned and celebrated finance professional, joins the first cohort of nominees in the running for the 10 awards up for grabs at the annual ‘Oscars of Finance’.
The CFO Awards for East Africa highlight outstanding financial leadership, innovation, and strategic management, honouring those who have made significant contributions to their organisations and the broader business community.
Winners will be celebrated at a glamorous gala dinner in Nairobi on 27 November 2025 that will bring together top CFOs, VIPs and business partners for an exquisite evening of networking, entertainment and fine cuisine.
Risper was appointed group chief financial officer of EABL in February 2020 after a four-year stint at Barclays Bank Zambia. She joined Barclays as a regional director for internal audit in 2008 and transitioned to director for Africa in November 2011. Thereafter, she took on the role of managing director for Africa RBB. Her time at Barclays was preceded by a nine-year stint as a senior manager at KPMG.
She holds non executive director roles at I&M Bank and APA Insurance.
Risper has a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting from the University of Nairobi and is a certified public accountant (CPA-K).
