Bartin Mtawali is the head of finance at African Elite Group.
He began his career in 2013 at Ashwin Brothers-Alexander Consultants , where he worked as an account assistant and auditor. In 2016, he joined MGK Consulting as senior auditor, managing multiple audit engagements, leading teams, and reviewing client financial systems to identify risks and improve internal controls.
In 2018, Bartin moved into the corporate sector as accounts payable specialist before joining Coninx Industries in March 2019. He was promoted to chief accountant, overseeing financial planning, tax advisory, budgeting, and policy development.
In June 2021, he joined Tuffsteel as chief accountant, where he continued to strengthen financial reporting and operational control. The following year, he was appointed assistant chief accountant at Betika.
Alongside his corporate roles, Bartin founded BMT Consulting in 2018, where he continues to serve as managing director. He also sits on the advisory board of Sango-Kenya, a non-governmental organisation focused on food and nutrition security in western Kenya.
He holds a BCom in finance and a CPA qualification from KCA University, an MBA in strategic management from the United States International University (USIU), and a financial modelling and valuation analysis certification from the Corporate Finance Institute.
