Isaiah Gakonyo is the acting group chief financial officer at Old Mutual East Africa, a position he has held since August 2026.
He joined Old Mutual from PwC Kenya, where he spent more than six years after returning to Nairobi in 2020. He joined as a senior manager in April 2020 and was promoted to associate director in July 2024.
Isaiah previously spent five years with PwC UK in Milton Keynes, joining as a senior associate in October 2014 and becoming a senior manager in July 2019. He then returned to Nairobi as a senior manager at Deloitte East Africa before rejoining PwC Kenya.
He began his career at PwC Kenya in September 2009 as an associate and was promoted to senior associate in July 2011.
Isaiah holds an MBA in strategic management and international business administration from the United States International University and a Bachelor of business management in finance and banking from Moi University. He is a certified public accountant and a certified information systems auditor.
