Sarah Bateta Okwi is the acting managing director at MTN Mobile Money Uganda.
She has been CFO at MTN Mobile Money Uganda since May 2022. Before joining the company, Sarah spent over nine years at MTN Uganda as senior manager finance operations from May 2013 to April 2022.
Sarah's telecommunications experience extends to MTN Rwanda, where she served as senior manager financial operations from June 2009 to June 2012.
Her earlier career includes roles in grants management at Deloitte Consulting and JSI Research and Training /Uphold, where she coordinated grant-making processes and managed financial aspects of multi-million dollar USAID-funded projects in health, education, and HIV/AIDS services.
Sarah holds a bachelor of commerce in accounting from Makerere University. She is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a certified public accountant in Uganda (CPA-U).
