Wangeci Kanjama was appointed chief investment & global markets officer at Equity Group Holdings in February 2026.
Prior to that, she served as group CFO of Spiro from November 2023 to August 2025. Before joining Spiro, she held the role of director of partnerships and special projects at M-Pesa Africa, after serving as finance director at the mobile money transfer provider.
Wangeci has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, having spent 13 years at Safaricom. She started as the head of business planning & forecasting in 2007, before taking on the position of head of wholesale & roaming in 2015. She then became the head of business partnering & performance management.
In addition to her executive roles, Wangeci serves as a non-executive director at Old Mutual Kenya, a position she has held since August 2023. She holds a BCom in finance and financial management from the University of Nairobi.
