Yusuf Omari is the chief finance officer of Absa Bank Kenya.

The experienced finance executive resumed his role as CFO, after serving as interim managing director at the financial services provider for six months.

He joined Absa Bank Kenya in 2004, working as the head of Internal Audit East and West Africa cluster for four years before taking on the role of head of Compliance. In 2009, he was appointed chief financial officer in 2009. Prior to his time at Absa Bank Kenya, Yusuf worked at audit firm KPMG.

He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). Yusuf is also a board member of the University of Nairobi Enterprise Services and ICPAK.

Yusuf holds an MBA from Strathmore Business School, a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi and is a qualified Certified Public Accountant (CPA) as well as a certified internal auditor.
