Ahmed boasts over 15 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, having joined LaFargeHolcim Tanzania in April 2020 as the chief financial officer.
Ahmed Mhada has assumed the role of chief executive officer at Mbeya Cement after five years as the chief financial officer. He becomes the first Tanzanian national to hold the position since the company was privatised in 1998.

Ahmed has held key finance and operations roles in Tanzania’s manufacturing and telecommunications sectors, having begun as a financial analyst at Tanzania Cigarette Company in 2011. He then joined Airtel Tanzania as an assistant manager in business planning and analysis, serving in that capacity for two years.
In 2014, Ahmed transitioned to Tanga Cement Company for a four-year stint as a management accountant. He took on the role of financial controller at Saint-Gobain Lodhia Gypsum in Arusha in 2018 before returning to Tanga Cement in a similar capacity in 2019
He holds a BCom from the University of Dar es Salaam and an MBA from the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign. He is a certified public accountant (CPA-T).
