Andrew boasts over 20 years of experience in audit, corporate finance, and financial leadership across Uganda, Kenya, and South Africa.
Andrew Makumbi has assumed the role of CFO at Old Mutual General Insurance Uganda, where he will oversee financial operations for the general, health, and properties businesses.
He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Uganda in September 2004 as an audit associate and served in the role for two years before being promoted to senior audit associate in July 2006. In January 2009, he rose to the position of assistant manager, working in that capacity until August 2011.
Andrew joined Jubilee Insurance Uganda in February 2012, as chief accountant, a role he held for one year and nine months. He transitioned to AIG Uganda as CFO in November 2013. He was appointed as regional operational controller for AIG in Johannesburg, South Africa in May 2015 before being promoted to CFO in January 2016.
In October 2019, Andrew was appointed as CFO at Jubilee Insurance Uganda and served in that capacity until August 2024. He worked as a consultant between July 2024 and September 2025 before assuming his current role at Old Mutual General Insurance Uganda.
Andrew holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Makerere University. He is also a certified public accountant (CPA), a fellow of the association of chartered certified accountants (FCCA), and a fellow of the institute of financial consultants (FIFC)
