The head of finance and support services at Population Services International (PSI) Uganda, is among the nominees for the 2026 CFO East Africa Awards, with over 13 years of financial leadership in the non-profit sector.
Population Services International (PSI) Uganda head of finance and support services Christine Katende has been nominated for the 2026 CFO East Africa Awards.
Christine has been with PSI Uganda for nine years, having joined in August 2017 as accounts payable accountant. She progressed through the roles of financial analyst, financial analytics manager and head of finance before being appointed head of finance and support services in March 2024, a role that extends her oversight to supply chain and information technology in addition to finance.
Before joining PSI Uganda, she spent over six years at PACE in Uganda in roles spanning accounts assistant, regional finance and administration officer, and payables and inventory accountant.
Christine holds a BA in economics from Makerere University and an MBA in finance from Heriot-Watt University. She is also an associate chartered management accountant.
Dubbed the "Oscars of Finance" in the region, the CFO East Africa Awards continues to celebrate leaders who raise the bar for financial leadership across East Africa.
The 2026 nominees will be celebrated at a gala event on 26 November, where winners will be announced.
