Evase Niyigena appointed CFO at Ecobank Rwanda

Evase brings more than a decade of banking and audit experience to the role, having most recently served as head of finance at I&M Bank Rwanda.

Evase Niyigena has taken up the position of chief finance officer at Ecobank Rwanda, bringing over ten years of experience spanning banking, financial reporting and audit across Rwanda.

He began his professional career as a senior auditor at EY in Kigali, where he spent over three years building expertise in financial analysis and risk management. He joined Access Bank Rwanda in June 2016 as head of financial management and external reporting, a role he held for three years before moving to I&M Bank Rwanda in 2019.

At I&M Bank Rwanda, Evase held two successive positions over nearly seven years. He served as chief accountant from June 2019 before being appointed head of finance in February 2024, overseeing financial operations and external reporting for the bank's Kigali operations.

Evase holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the School of Finance and Banking. He is a certified public accountant (CPA).
