Hillary will lead the fintech’s financial strategy, operational excellence and inclusion agenda across East Africa.
Hillary Oonge has joined Furaha Financial as chief financial officer. Before this, he served as chief operating officer and partner at SKM Africa from June 2024 to August 2025.
He boasts more than a decade of experience in finance, treasury and strategic leadership across the financial services, energy, and technology sectors.

Hillary began his career as a collections officer at Absa Bank Kenya between August 2010 and March 2011. He then joined Sanlam Kenya, where he served as an assistant accountant from March 2011 to October 2013 before being promoted to corporate treasurer.
In January 2016, Hillary moved to Vivo Energy as a treasury accountant, a role he held until April 2017. He spent close to seven years at M-KOPA Solar, where he rose to the position of group treasury manager and also served as acting head of supply chain in 2020. Hillary assumed the role of CFO at Pezesha in November 2023 before transitioning to the role of chief operating officer and partner at SKM Africa in June 2024.
He holds an executive MBA from Strathmore University and a BCom in accounting from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). He is also a certified public accountant (CPA-K) and a certified information systems auditor (CISA).
