Madison Group group CFO Dr Daniel Murage Kinyua is part of the second cohort of nominees for the CFO East Africa Awards, joining a distinguished group of finance leaders competing for the region's most coveted recognition in finance leadership.
Madison Group group CFO Dr Daniel Murage Kinyua has been nominated for the 2026 CFO East Africa Awards.
Since August 2023, he has served as group CFO at Madison Group, where he has led the transition to IFRS 17, among other major initiatives.
Before that, he served as CFO at UBA Kenya from July 2021 to July 2023, a role he took on after over eight years at NCBA Group as digital bank CFO and general manager for finance and strategic planning. Daniel was a key figure in the NIC-CBA merger that created NCBA Bank.
Earlier in his career, he worked as a business analyst at Airtel Kenya and as an auditor at PwC Kenya and KPMG East Africa.
Daniel holds a BSc in civil engineering from the University of Nairobi, an MBA from Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University, and a PhD in business administration from UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia. He is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a certified public accountant (CPA-K).
Dubbed the "Oscars of Finance", the CFO Awards celebrate leaders who raise the bar for financial leadership across East Africa.
The 2026 nominees will be celebrated at a gala event on 26 November, where winners will be announced.
