Paul steps into the group CFO role after nearly three years at Jubilee Insurance, having served as senior regional head of finance and group head of finance before his appointment.
Paul Mungai has been appointed group CFO of Jubilee Insurance, effective April 2026.
He joined Jubilee Insurance in June 2023 as senior regional head of finance, was promoted to group head of finance in April 2025, and has now taken the top finance role at the group.
Paul brings over fifteen years of experience in insurance finance across East Africa, with stints in Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan.
He spent nearly four years as head of finance and country CFO at Old Mutual Insurance Rwanda, where he delivered the company's first profitable year and its first dividend. Before that, he held roles at UAP Insurance South Sudan as chief accountant and acting head of finance, navigating the financial management challenges of a market dealing with hyperinflation and currency reform.
Paul began his career at UAP Life Assurance in Nairobi, progressing from accountant to senior credit controller over nearly five years.
He holds a BCom in finance from Kenyatta University and an executive MBA from Strathmore Business School and IESE Business School. He is a certified public accountant (CPA-K).
