Patrick Marara Shyaka is the CFO of Rwanda Fertiliser Company.

He began his career at the Office of the Auditor General of Rwanda in February 2002, where he rose to become director of quality assurance. 

In June 2010, he joined the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning as accountant general, a position he held for more than six years. There, he supervised the preparation of the government’s consolidated financial statements, oversaw accounting systems across government entities, and ensured adequate internal controls. 

Patrick moved to AGDF Corporate Trust in June 2017, where he served as chief financial officer for five and a half years. 

In November 2022, he was appointed to his current role.

Patrick is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a certified public accountant (CPA). He also holds an MBA from the University of Edinburgh Business School, a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Bangalore University, and has completed additional training in international business and strategic CFO leadership from Harvard Business School.
