Moses moves into the acting CEO position after serving as CFO of Britam Life Assurance Company (Kenya) for nearly nine years, with Hannah Kariithi appointed to act in the CFO role he vacates.
Moses Kang'ethe has been appointed acting chief executive officer and principal officer of Britam Life Assurance Company (Kenya) , effective May 2026.
This follows a period as acting chief operations officer from September 2025, a step up from the CFO role he had held since September 2016.
Hannah Kariithi now takes on the CFO role in acting capacity after serving as finance manager at Britam Life Assurance since October 2025. She brings over thirteen years of experience in accounting, financial management, and regulatory compliance, drawn largely from the insurance sector.
The two moves are part of a series of leadership changes at Britam Group that also sees Lawrence Gathanji appointed CFO of Britam General Insurance
Hannah began her career as an audit assistant at Crowe Erastus and Co. She spent five years as deputy manager of finance at MUA Mauritius and East Africa before joining Cannon Group as finance manager in June 2024. Earlier roles included financial accountant at Phoenix of East Africa and over four years at Kenya Orient Insurance, where she progressed from graduate apprentice to accountant.
She holds a BCom in accounting from the University of Nairobi and is a certified public accountant (CPA-K).
