Miriam Kaggwa takes on CFO role at WPP-Scangroup

Miriam Kaggwa was earlier this year appointed as the CFO of WPP-Scangroup. She has extensive experience in the marketing and communications industry in North America, the United Kingdom and emerging markets.

Miriam Kaggwa was appointed as the CFO of WPP-Scangroup, effective 1 February 2023.

She has extensive experience in the marketing and communications industry in North America, the United Kingdom and emerging markets.

Prior to joining WPP-Scangroup, Miriam held the position of CFO: North America for BCW Global, a PR agency owned by WPP. There she was responsible for the Finance and Operations function in nine US markets. As CFO, she supported the North American leadership in driving growth, improving work processes to find efficiencies and creating value through brainstorming alternate revenue streams for the business.

Before joining BCW, Miriam worked for Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG), a global provider of marketing solutions for 17 years in different roles in London and the US. During her tenure at IPG, she oversaw finance and operations for different agencies within IPG including Ansible, Rapport, Orion and Kinesso. Miriam was also in charge of the oversight of finance functions in offshore hubs in Mumbai, Manilla and Warsaw and worked for McCann, structuring mergers and acquisitions transactions.

During her earlier career, Miriam worked for Salomon SmithBarney in their investment banking unit and with GE Capital. She started her professional career working as an engineer for Sheldhal Inc.

Miriam holds a BA in Chemistry from Macalester College, a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the Johnson School of Management, Cornell University, US.
